Bloom
The quote, "Bloom where you're planted" or as I prefer to say, "Bloom where God plants you" has stood out to me lately. It's an interesting concept because it means we need to rely heavily on God to guide us, grow us, and sustain us. I believe that God is faithful, just, and good, so He will do that for us, but it's not all about the work God is going to do. We also have a role in this process.
Our role contains three main parts, but is not limited to just these.
1) Surrender
In order to allow God to plant us wherever we need to be based on His terms, we need to surrender everything to Him. Our hearts, lives, desires, plans, etc. Give everything to Him. When we allow Him to be in complete control we will willingly accept what He has for us, make the most of it and be content in Him.
2) Obedience
We also need to be obey God's commands and follow in His ways. Jesus obeyed everything the Father willed Him to, while on earth, even when it was unfathomably hard. We are called to do the same. When we obey the Lord, He rewards us in ways we never thought possible.
3) Trust
Faith is not about seeing what's ahead, it's about trusting that God holds the future in His mighty hands and therefore it's safe and secure. There are many seasons of this life, and we need to trust that whatever season God has us in right now is where He wants us and He will use every experience to allow us to grow in our faith, for His glory, and for the sake of His kingdom.
I think this quote has some wisdom to share about doing what God has called us to do and remaining in that calling with Christ. We can ask God to guide us but we have to be willing to move our feet. We have a role to play in this process as well as God.

"Nevertheless, each person should live as a believer in whatever situation the Lord has assigned to them, just as God has called them... Brothers and sisters, each person, as responsible to God, should remain in the situation they were in when God called them." -1 Corinthians 7:17, 24.
