At the Cross
What Jesus did for us is incomprehensible. The pain He suffered for us is unfathomable. He, an innocent man, died a criminal's death to save us. All of us. Yes,you. He died so that we won't have to. We, as Christians, will not experience true death, because Jesus provides eternal life for those who believe in Him. We are saved! Death has been conquered. Death is not something to fear. Death doesn't get the final say. In fact, the best is yet to come.
So what is our response? How does this knowledge change our lives? If Jesus suffered the anguish He did to free us, then why are we not free? Why do we remain slaves to the world? To depression, anxiety, and confusion? Why are we still stuck in this pit of pain, when Jesus has overcome the world? We need to rise! Take a stand. Embrace the new life Jesus has allowed for us to have. He was resurrected, we can be too. We can be new. We can be alive. Just like Him.
So bring your pain, suffering, and brokenness to the cross. Bring it to the feet of Jesus. Lay it there and let it go. Walk away from it. Let Jesus take it from you. For He died on the cross to bear all of our burdens. Let them burn in the fire. Let that hurt be destroyed. Let Jesus wipe the tears from our eyes and mend our shattered hearts. Jesus died to let us live. So live! Live for Him. Live intentionally. Live so that His sacrifice won't be for nothing. Live knowing that the depths of our pain is safe at the cross.
