Hardship
What do we do when the old pain comes back? What do we do when we're reminded of past mistakes, past failures, past struggles? What do we do when all we desire is a new and fresh start as well as transformation?
What do we do when we're filled with anger? When our hearts curl up into a fit of rage? What do we do when we want change to come but can't see it anywhere near? What do we do?
How do we overcome the pain that seems irreparable? How do we overcome the hurt that seems to take up most of our hearts? How do we forgive when we've been wronged over and over again? How do we mend a heart that's shattered, a life that's broken, and a spirit that's crushed?
When all seems lost, how do we find the joy in life? When all seems broken, how do we heal? When all seems crooked and distorted, how do we straighten out? How do we recover? How do we get back to the way God wanted it to be? Open communion. Peace. Where did that life go? I want it back.
I know that Jesus is the answer to all these questions. I know that it really is that simple. I know that Jesus holds all power to heal and restore and redeem and rectify. Our God is big, mighty, and so good, but I still dread the hardship.
