Bear Much Fruit
Sometimes we believe that we can do life on our own. We think that we are in control. We think that we can make a good life for ourselves - we probably can! But it won't be the best life possible unless we have Jesus. It won't be the fulfilled, energized, and abundant life that God wants for us.
God gave us the gift of freewill, but He still wants to do life with us, He still wants to be involved, and He still wants to guide us. But the point of a guideline is that it's recommended for the most safety and enjoyment - it's not forced.
Jesus promises a rewarding life, if lived close to Him. He even says, "Apart from me you can do nothing." We were created to produce our most beautiful and delicious fruit from the branch that is intimately intertwined with and growing forth from Jesus' vine. We were created for this type of connection, bond, and relationship with our Saviour! So when this relationship is weak, broken, lacking, or non-existent, so is our fruit, so are the joys in our life, and so are our other relationships. The most satisfying life we could live, is one aligned with Jesus.
