My First Love

I need to get back to my first Love.

I need to remember all that He's done for me.

When I turned my head away, He didn't. When I strayed, He didn't. When I questioned and doubted, He didn't. When I gave up, He didn't. When I asked for forgiveness, He was there to pardon me. When I ran into those arms, He welcomed me back as His child. When I needed comfort, He sang to me. When I cried, He held me. When I asked for help, He strengthened me.

Jesus is a good friend to us even when we don't return the favour. Jesus pours His love into us even when we don't care to receive it. Jesus holds out His hand for us even when we reject it. He doesn't change even when we do. He is consistent, stable, and secure. He is a compassionate and sympathetic Father, slow to anger and quick to forgive.

I need to get back to my first Love. My only Love. My last Love. He is the One whose love is unconditional, everlasting, and eternal. He is abounding in love. My first Love loves me even when I don't love Him. He loves even when it hurts. He is love. Let us never forget what He's done for us in love. Let us thank Him, worship Him, and praise Him for all that He's done! He continues to work miracles and perform the impossible. He is still alive and active!

He is so beyond worthy. Even if life doesn't make sense, He is worthy. Even if things aren't going our way, He is worthy. Even if we are in the midst of a storm, He is worthy still.

I never want to let go of the One whose love never fails, whose mercy never ends, and whose heart is more precious than any person, place, or thing within all the realms.

I need to get back to my first Love.
