A Light in Our Dark World
There is so much sinful greed in the world. There is so much selfish gain. There is so much wrongdoing and abuse. I don't want to be like that. I want to be different. God calls us to be different than the world. He calls us to be a light in our dark world. He calls us to trust that He'll give us the strength to do what He wants us to do - to accomplish His will. He calls us to believe that He'll give us the courage to follow in His ways - to fulfill His plan. He calls us to put our hope in Him. If Jesus is our main focus, everything else in our life will fall into place. He will sort out the details for us.
As Christians, we should be thinking, talking, and acting in a way that shows God's mercy and love, so that others may come to know Him. We should be confident, compassionate, and kind in order for the Holy Spirit to radiate from us. We should share openly our joys and sorrows, our happiness and suffering, so that others may learn through us and take comfort in the Lord. We should show others that we experience pain the same as anyone, but that we have the blessed hope of Jesus and that's what gets us through those times.
Let's be a light for the world. Let's be on fire for Jesus. Let's burn with passion to serve. Let's be open to allow the Holy Spirit to complete His works in and through us so that He may be glorified.
This is what I want. I want to get back to purity and trust. I want Jesus to heal what's broken in us.
