A Prayer of Dependence
Sweet Jesus,
You are the One who makes us whole. You are the One who breathes life into our lungs. You lift us up out of our anguish. You give us hope. You fill our heart's deepest desires and longings. You make us who we are. You give us eternal happiness. You bless us with exceedingly abundantly more than we could ever ask for. You are the One who walks before us. You are the One who paves the road ahead. You are the One who breaks down the walls holding us back. You are the One who strengthens us to live for you. You are the One we yearn for. You are the One we want.
Thank You, God, for being a stable and firm foundation. Thank You for being consistent and reliable. Thank you for fighting for us. Thank you for protecting us from harm. Thank you for easing our anxiety. Thank you for letting our hearts be at peace. Thank You for being our best friend - the One we run to in times of trouble and in times of joy. We want to share everything with You. We want to invite You into every area of our lives and let You work in our hearts. We invite You in, Jesus. Come. Live in us. Dwell in our hearts. This is our desire.
Please be with us as we go about our week. Be with us in the regular daily motions. Be with us in the quietness. Be with us in the chaos. Be with us, now and forever. We need You. We need Your help. We need Your comfort. We need Your forgiveness. We need Your life. Fill us with everything that You are. We love You, King Jesus!
