Embrace This Season
It's good to be excited for the future and for the amazing plans God has in store, however, we shouldn't idolize God's promises. God should be our only idol. The thing is, God is waiting for us to be truly content and fulfilled through glorifying Him before He blesses us with something our immature hearts may create into an idol. Did you get that? Our purpose is to glorify God. That's why He created us. If we aren't doing that, how will our hearts ever be satisfied?
Something that God is teaching me is how to embrace this current season of life and be content in Him. Wherever I am. Right now. A couple years ago, God told me that He has set aside the role of wife and mom, for me. This was a huge comfort to me and I held onto this promise so tightly. It got to the point where I looked past God and just wanted His promise. I learned that it's impossible to feel fulfilled unless you have Jesus and are seeking to please Him. I also learned that for everything there is a season. I don't need to long for a man to come along. I can trust that God will introduce me to 'the one' in His perfect timing.
If you can relate to me in this way, I have one word for you: TRUST. Trust in the Lord and everything else will fall into place. Be at peace with His promises and know that God is faithful, but He will only give you what your heart is ready for. Embrace whatever season of life you're in right now; life is short, don't waste it away by yearning for something you don't have.
