Wait on His Promise

The time between God promising us something and Him fulfilling that promise is the playground of doubt. Why is it such a challenging task to trust in the Lord and to wait on Him? Often times when we ask Jesus for something, instead of answering 'yes', or 'no', He answers 'wait'. When God tells us that it's not the right time, we should praise God for His perfect plan for our lives instead of feeling angry and defeated.

We have to remember that He is God. He is Lord over all. He has got every detail under His control; we have nothing, absolutely nothing to worry about. Why do we doubt God's goodness and love? I want to be able to truly believe that Jesus is mighty! He is mighty enough to carry out a promise for His child.

We might want to plan out our lives and know exactly where we're going, but God calls us into something greater, something deeper. He calls us into a life of complete dependence on Him. He calls us into a life of complete surrender to Him who guides our path and leads us.

When Jesus tells us to wait, let's just be still before the Lord and keep our eyes only on Him. His promise will come true, whether big or small, it will be carried out, we just need to trust and be focused on Him. Jesus will never let us down. His plans are bigger and better than ours, and they're all in His mighty hands!

I encourage you to wait on His promise to you and be patient while He works. Wait in joyful expectation because our God will provide. He is faithful. He is good. He will never let you down.
