Child, King, and Gift
Many years ago, the whole earth rejoiced, for the Saviour of the world has come. For to us a child is born. Jesus, our precious King, was born through the virgin Mary. An angel of the Lord appeared to Mary and told her, "You have found favour with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob's descendants forever; his kingdom will never end." (Luke 1:30-33).
Jesus came to bring peace, hope, and joy to all nations. He came to dwell among us, to teach us, to love us, to heal us, to set us free, and to die for our sins so that we can be called blameless. How great is His love for us!
Immanuel - God with us.
We can live with this hope that Jesus, our Lord met us here. He came, in the flesh, for us. And now He's here in the Spirit to continue walking with us through life. We can live with this peace that Jesus is in control. He knew that He was born to die. He was willing to suffer for our sake. We can live with this joy that Jesus is King. Our King is good, righteous, pure, and sacred. Jesus came as a child, as a King, and as a gift for all.
Jesus is your gift this Christmas. Will you acknowledge Him? Will you embrace Him? Will you serve Him as your King?
