His Truth
We are imperfect beings. We all fall short of the glory of God. We sin everyday. And our sin has consequences and penalties. The thing is though, perhaps we don't always get directly punished for our sins. Maybe we are punished by our sins. Have you ever told a lie, a little white lie, that lead to more and more lies? I have. Eventually you are filled with a sense of guilt and shame that doesn't fully go away until forgiveness is given. That guilt and shame can be punishment enough for those 'goody-two-shoes' like me. But it's also painful telling the person you lied to, that it wasn't true.
We are stuck in a world that's lost its way. We undoubtedly need to be emptied of ourselves and be filled with the Holy Spirit. Through God's Spirit we can be fully healed and we start to uncover the truths about God our Father. When Satan feeds us lies, we need to refuse belief. We need to stand firm in the truths that God provides.
God calls us into His light. When we are faced with an evil temptation such as lying, God provides a way out. He makes us brave and gives us the courage to fight off the evil in this broken world. Sin is in our nature but that doesn't mean that we are excused from the costs of them. Jesus died on the cross so that we could be saved; He made the ultimate sacrifice for us, so we could experience the glory of eternity with Him.
Go. Walk in the light of His truth.
